My Review of Bradley Sands Sorry I Ruined Your Orgy

I kind of feel like this may be my most negative review yet. I guess that’s not a bad thing, every book you read is not going to be your favorite.

Reading this collection of short stories I found out that I’m not a very big fan of really short stories. I like a lot of flash fiction, but the short short fiction, or micro fiction or whatever just doesn’t do it for me. That doesn’t mean that I disliked this book, there are a lot of good stories in it. This just wasn’t my most favorite story collection I’ve read. I’m definitely not knocking the quality of the book. Bradley Sands is a fantastic writer and has crafted some really good stories here, I just prefer them to be longer.
This book contains 52 works of flash fiction and poetry on 128 pages. They range in genres from all across the board. A couple of my favorites were Seth Schultz, Bread and Body of Christ, and Crawling over Fifty good Pussies to get to One Fat Boy’s Asshole. From a lot of the titles of his stories you can tell Sands is big on the humor, and he doesn’t take himself too seriously. One surprise for me was the story Invincible, it was kind of touching, but in a Bradley Sands Bizarro kind of way.
This book deserves a read, maybe even a couple. You don’t have to read it straight through, just jump around to different stories, it’s all pretty entertaining. I’m sure most fans of Bizarro will like it a lot, I liked it, just not as much as I thought it would.
