Review for Rico Slade will F’ing kill you by Bradley Sands

This is the review I posted up on Amazon

Rico Slade will f’ing kill you, its true. But what about Chip Johnson, the action movie star who plays Rico Slade? That’s really what this extremely entertaining and facetious book is about. With loads of sarcasm and humor Bradley Sands uses Rico Slade to twist and pervert the action movie genre we all love from the 80’s and 90’s, complete with Arnold on the front cover.  From the beginning were thrown into your standard scenario with a plane hijacking, but this one involves a swordfish. From there we follow Chip as he spirals through a significant little mental breakdown. He’s hell-bent on stopping Rico Slade’s arch nemesis Baron Mayhem, and he even buys a map to evildoers to speed up his quest.  Along the way he rips the throats out of anyone that tries to stop him, or just gives them titty twisters. We get to see the truth, though, as we shift between Chips perspective and Rico Slade’s.  One man’s quest becomes another’s possible means towards fame and fortune as psychologist Harold Schwartzman tries to use Chip Johnsons problems for his own personal gain. But Rico Slade isn’t having that, and he’s not letting anyone stand in his way, especially Harold, who Rico believes is Joe Pesci.

This book was my first exposure to the genius that is Bradley Sands, I wasn’t disappointed. With all the action, comedy and bizarreness, I don’t think anyone who enjoys Bizarro would be either. Bradley Sands is a master of the absurd, and he brought his A game with this book.
